The foundation for the movement.
About Incest AWARE
Incest AWARE seeks to be the foundation for the Incest AWAREness Movement. Co-Founder of Incest AWARE & Founder of the Alliance
After Suzanne's retirement, Jo. took over Incest AWARE with a vision to reclaim the Incest AWAREness Movement. She built the Incest AWARE Alliance, founded the first Incest AWARE survivor support group, and created and published the Incest AWAREness Guide and Course. Jo. prepared Incest AWARE to become a non-profit and gathered the first group of board members who now run the organization together.
Founder of Incest AWARE
As an incest survivor and outspoken advocate for incest awareness, Suzanne created the Sexual Assault Advocacy Network and then Incest AWARE. She chose Josephine A. Lauren as a primary collaborative partner, as well as established the co-founding group. Through over 100 trainings and talks, a dozen articles, DV/SA grant consultation, and 8 years of survivor outreach and activism, Suzanne’s mission is to end the exploitation and injustice of sexual violence in all its forms. Thank you, Suzanne, for your memorable contribution to this movement.
